Which of the presidential candidates is best suited to lead us into the next four years, or potentially eight years? That's the question which many people will be trying to answer for much of the next year.
Each of the extant candidates has strengths and weaknesses, as would any candidate who ran. The key therefore must be what principles and methods a candidate would employ as a president.
This means that character is an extremely important part of a candidate. As I've argued before (Aug. 20,) it is not one person who makes decisions in personal life, and another person who makes decisions in public life. It is the same person who makes decisions in either sphere of life. A person who has character in their private life has character in their public life, and a person who doesn't have character in their private life won't have it in their public life.
I encourage all of my fellow Americans to choose candidates who best reflect their positions on the issues, and the ones who have the character to act in accordance with their positions.
