Memorial Day

It's common to feel amazement when we consider the sacrifices of anyone in our armed services. When we think about those who lost their lives during service, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. The thought that people just like us would count our lives and freedoms that important is startling. The love they thus showed to us, and to future generations, is humbling. Though our appreciation is mingled with grief, and the awkwardness of knowing this is a gift that can't be reciprocated, this day is one where we can be appreciative and reflective. Thank you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and let us pray for those they left behind.
